Work and Play.

Work and play both require effort but they are not the same.

I can have fun working but that doesn’t make it play.

My leisure pursuits can be hard but that doesn’t make them work.

As a formerly ambitious workaholic, understanding the difference between work and play has a direct impact on my quality of life.

So, I came up with a simple question to help me distinguish the two:

Why am I doing this?

If my answer revolves around making money or growing [fill in the blank], then I’m working.

Every other fun activity tends to be play.
